    The  Department  of  Biotechnology  successfully  conducted  a  One  Day

    workshop Programme on “Indoor Saffron Cultivation Using Vertical Farming”

    on 18 December 2025. The programme highlighted the biology and growth
    cycle of saffron, indoor controlled cultivation techniques, flower induction,

    stigma  harvesting,  post-processing,  and  quality  evaluation  for  food  and

    pharmaceutical  applications.  The  training  benefited  UG/PG  students,  Ph.D.
    scholars,  faculty  members  and  researchers  by  providing  hands-on

    knowledge and insights into sustainable vertical farming practices.
