Dr. S. M. PRAKASH from the Department of Chemistry has recently published a
research article titled "Impact of the Catalytic Activity of SiO2 on the Synthesis of
1 Aryl Benzimidazoles and its Mechanism: NMR Studies and Antimicrobial Effect."
This work was published in the journal Silicon (ISSN 1876-9918) on September 16,
2024, and can be accessed via DOI: 10.1007/s12633-024-03140-3.
Dr. K. Jayamoorthy from the Department of Chemistry has recently conducted a
2 review of three articles published in Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Journal of
Molecular Structure, and Current Organic Chemistry. Additionally, he has evaluated
a D.Phil thesis from the University of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe.
Dr. N. R. Rajagopalan from the Department of Chemistry has been appointed as an

3 editorial member of the “American Journal of Applied and Industrial Chemistry”,
which is part of the Science Publishing Group established in 2012 in New York, United

States.

Dr.S.Vinod Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical engineering
attended a 6 day ATAL Sponsored Faculty Development programe on “Artificial

organized by Department of Information Technology, St.Josephs, College of

Dr.N.Venkatesh, Professor, Head of the Department, Department of Chemcial
7 Engineering has Succesfully cleared his NPTEL Certification Course in
“Technologies for Clean and Renewable Energy Production” has Top 1% Elite Gold.
