Webathon 2025
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in
collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch Chapter and IEEE Madras
Section, successfully organized Webathon 2025, a 24-hour
international hackathon, as part of the 1st International Conference
on Frontier Technologies & Solutions on March 27 & 28, 2025. With
over 90 teams from 30+ colleges competing for a prize pool of ₹6,000,
the event fostered global innovation and technological
advancements. The competition consisted of two rounds: a PPT
submission round, where shortlisted projects were evaluated by
industry experts Mr. Thiruvel (Software Engineer, Avasoft – AI/ML &
Blockchain), Mr. Prashanth (Security Delivery Team Lead, Accenture –
Cybersecurity & Game Development), and Mr. Arangan Rishikesh
(Graduate Electrical Engineer, H&MV Engineering – Health Tech),
followed by the final IEEE paper submission round, assessed by Dr.
Senthil Kumar and Dr. Sathish Kumar, Professors from the ADS
Department of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering. The event was
graced by Dr. Ram Kumar, Professor & HOD, SIMATS Engineering, as
the Chief Guest, and encompassed key domains such as AI/ML,
Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Game Development, and Health Tech. The
success of Webathon 2025 was made possible by the dedicated
efforts of participants, jurors, and volunteers, marking a significant
milestone in advancing technological excellence and interdisciplinary
collaboration.
