CHEMICAL INDUSTRIAL VISIT
CHEMICAL INDUSTRIAL VISIT
An Industrial Visit was organized by
the Department of Chemical
Engineering, St. Joseph’s College of
Engineering for the III Year Chemical
Engineering students on 25th July
2025 to Madras Fertilizers Limited
(MFL), Ennore. The visit provided a
valuable opportunity for students to
gain real- ime exposure to large- cale
fertilizer production processes and
industrial operations.
During the visit, the students were introduced to various units involved in the
production of urea, ammonia, and complex fertilizers. They observed processes such
as reforming, ammonia synthesis, granulation, and packaging, along with critical
aspects of safety, pollution control, and utility management in a heavy chemical
industry. The technical team at MFL gave a detailed presentation and guided tour,
helping students connect their theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
