First-year students Mr. Lawrence J and Mr. Maharishi A (ADS), along with second-year
students Ms. Pooja MM, Mr. Sujithvinu RR, Mr. Sibi Muthuvel R, and Mr. Saavishrudh S (IT),
secured First Place in CODEATHON 2.0, a 24-hour hackathon conducted as part of Sri
Eshwar Thiran 2026 at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, held on 4th and 5th February
2026, winning a cash prize of ₹50,000. The achievement highlights the department’s
strong emphasis on innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence.

Team Grid Guard from ECE Department clinched the First Prize and a cash award of Rs.
10,000 at the IMPULSE 12-Hour Smart Energy Challenge, held on February 5th at the
Chennai Institute of Technology. Third-year students Varun Raghav S B, Steve Christian
Samuel C, and Sivasankaran V C, mentored by Dr. G. Anitha, developed an innovative
Smart Energy Meter designed to detect electricity theft and optimize household energy
use.
