                                                                Second-year         students       from      the
                                                                Department  of  Chemical  Engineering
                                                                earned  a  Special  Mention  Prize  at
                                                                ImpactX  3.0,  a  24-hour  hackathon  on
                                                                Sustainable  Development  Goals  (SDGs),
                                                                held on 5th and 6th February 2026 at St.
                                                                Joseph’s Institute of Technology.
                                                                The  team  members  Roshini  Priya  V  and
                                                                Sivadurga  M  were  recognized  for  their
                                                                innovative  approach  and  problem-solving
                                                                skills.  The  event  was  organized  by  the
                                                                Department  of  ECE,  St.  Joseph’s  Institute
                                                                of  Technology,  bringing  together  young
                                                                innovators     to    address     sustainability-
                                                                focused challenges.








             Ms. S. Akshaya, a III Year student of the Department of Chemical
             Engineering, participated in an online guest lecture on “Modeling
             of  Non-Linear  Industrial  Process  using  Machine  Learning”,
             organized      by     The     Institution     of    Engineers      (India),
             Kancheepuram  Local  Centre,  on  30th  January  2026.  She
             received a Certificate of Participation for her active involvement
             in  the  session,  which  provided  valuable  insights  into  the
             application  of  machine  learning  techniques  in  non-linear
             industrial process modeling.










                                              Students  from  the  Department  of  Biotechnology
                                              actively  participated  in  the  Campus  Run  for  Equality
                                              held  at  St.  Joseph’s  College  of  Engineering  on  6th
                                              February  2026,  organized  in  association  with  the
                                              Institute  of  Green  Engineers  (IGEN).  The  event  aimed
                                              to  promote  gender  equality  through  a  2  km  campus
                                              run. The department students performed exceptionally
                                              well,  with  Ms.  Sanjana  securing  the  first  position  and
                                              Ms. Nithyashree securing the second position, winning
                                              cash prizes and bringing laurels to the department.
