IEEE EVENTS
Department of EEE in association with The IEEE St. Joseph’s College of Engineering Student Branch
(SBC60101) successfully organized a webinar titled "RENEWABLE ENERGY FOR SUSTAINBALE
DEVELOPMENT: OPPURTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES" as part of the Insegnante 2 series on 08.02.2025.
The session was led by Dr. A. JAMNA Assistant Professor/EEE. Experts discussed the various renewable
sources, such as solar, wind, and bioenergy, highlighting their potential to reduce dependence on fossil
fuels and mitigate climate change. Opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and energy security
through renewable energy were emphasized. However, challenges such as technological limitations,
high initial costs, and policy barriers were also addressed. The session encouraged stakeholders to
collaborate and innovate for overcoming these obstacles, ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable energy
future for all.
Department of EEE in association with the IEEE PHOTONICS SOCIETY successfully organized
a webinar titled "CMOS Integrated Optical Sensors: A Miniature Magic" on 06.02.2025. The
session was conducted by Dr. A.G. Krishna kanth,FOUNDER AND CTO OF MOSART LABS
,HYDERABAD. The speaker provided a comprehensive overview of the working principles,
advantages, and cutting-edge applications of CMOS optical sensors in modern-day
technologies, including biomedical imaging, environmental monitoring, and smart sensing
systems. The session highlighted how these miniature yet powerful sensors are
revolutionizing various industries by offering compact, low-power, and cost-effective
solutions for optical detection.
Department of EEE in association with IEEE St.Joseph’s College of engineering Students chapter conducted
a webinar session "Future Trends and Innovations in Smart Devices and Automated Systems" on February
4, 2025 presented by Dr. T. Ananth Kumar senior member of IEEE, MISTE, Research Coordinator at IFET
college of Engineering. The session provided valuable insights into the latest advancements in smart
technologies, IoT, and automation. Experts from the industry discussed emerging trends, AI-driven
automation, and the role of smart devices in various sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, and
smart cities. The webinar highlighted the significance of automation in improving efficiency, reducing
human intervention, and enhancing productivity. Attendees gained knowledge about cutting-edge
innovations and future opportunities in this rapidly evolving field. The session also included an interactive
Q&A, allowing participants to clarify their doubts and explore potential research areas.
