Mr. D. Dinesh Kumar and Mr. C. N. Gnanaprakasam, Assistant
Professors from the Department of Information Technology,
participated in a one-week ATAL Faculty Development
Program on “Advanced Energy Solutions for a Sustainable
Future” held at AMET University, Chennai, from 22nd to 27th
September 2025.
Dr. G. Baskar from the Department of
Biotechnology has been recognized among the top
2% of scientists globally by Stanford University and
Elsevier, a distinction based on rigorous citation
metrics. With an h-index of 17, he has a substantial
number of highly cited publications and his Hm-
index of 10 reflects a consistent research impact
over his career. This recognition underscores his
significant contributions to the field of
biotechnology, highlighting both the quality and
influence of his work. The Stanford-Elsevier ranking
evaluates scientists across disciplines using
Scopus data, and inclusion signifies global
acknowledgment of a researcher’s scholarly impact.
Dr. G. Baskar has been honored with the Best
Teacher Award (Engineering) 2025, instituted by
The Institution of Engineers (India), on 28th
September 2025. This prestigious award recognizes
his exceptional contributions to engineering
education, excellence in teaching, and dedication to
mentoring students. It reflects his commitment to
nurturing the next generation of engineers and
promoting high standards of academic and
professional excellence.
Dr.G.Baskar from Department of Biotechnology has Published a research Paper entitle
“Mango leaves derived carbonaceous material as a green catalyst for biodiesel
synthesis from jatropha curcas oil“ in the journal on molecular catalysis with their co-
authors kankana Saikia, Sayali Prakash jamadar, Hu li, Gopinath Halder, Monjuly
rongipi, samuel lalthazuala rokhum.
