CHAPTER

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering proudly inaugurated the IEI Student Chapter
on February 3rd 2026 ,marking a significant step towards strengthening professional engagement
and technical excellence among students. The event began around 11.15 AM with Tamil Thaivazhthu,
followed by a warm Welcome Address by Assistant Professor Ms. Manochitra S. The ceremonial
Lighting of the Lamp set an inspiring tone for the occasion. A prelude address by our esteemed
Principal Dr. Vaddi Seshagiri Rao, emphasized the role of professional societies in bridging the gap
between academic learning and industry expectations, and encouraged students to actively
participate in IEI activities for holistic development. The distinguished chief guest, Dr. S. Karthikeyan,
Chairman, IE(I), Kancheepuram Local Centre, was formally introduced and felicitated with a memento.
The chief guest, delivered an insightful importance of professional bodies in nurturing future
engineers with guidance on emerging trends, essential skills, and professional growth pathways A key
highlight of the programme was the Presentation of the IEI Student Chapter Certificate, formally
recognising the establishment of the chapter, followed by Badge Distribution to student members,
symbolising their commitment to professional growth and ethical practice.
